   First, this is DEFINITELY not a dedicated thermal device. You’ll need to spend almost double the money for a good one of those. This is a red dot that offers an additional capability. If you go into this with that in mind, you’ll LOVE it. Second, it’s incredible that they’ve been able to squeeze this much performance out of such a small device. I think this kind of hybrid model is definitely going to be adopted by other companies. Third, it’s just great. You won’t be disappointed if you look at this as an expensive red dot with extra capability. I can’t stress that enough! If you’re used to using high-end thermal devices, this will disappoint you. It’s a red dot, with extra features.

   Was pleasantly surprised at how well you can see at shorter ranges( 50 yds-ish). And a magnifier compliments it nicely. Can also run a pvs14 behind the magnifier to get a fusion setup.

   Excellent! I’ve tried so many different NV options, including more expensive digital day night scopes and 3rd generation NV, but this little thermal red dot beats them all! Unfortunately , the customer service is sketchy; had a question about the positioning of the reticle after zeroing and was told there was nothing wrong with it but I could return it for repair. Why would I return it if there is nothing wrong with it?

   I am using this in front of a Holosun 3x magnifier. It works great during the daylight. If using the red dot and thermal overlay it helps to be an overcast day or late evening. If you are hog hunting at night and a group comes in, good luck. It is a large blob. If one moves away from the group then it is game on! If they or in thick brush, it doesn’t do well. Seems to only see the “first” layer temperature. Best thing was I was able to hunt with one gun day and night, didn’t have to change guns or sights like everyone else.

   Overall the concept of the Holosun TH is an amazing idea in fact one of its kind. The biggest issue I have ran into was the quality compared to the price. Unfortunately I returned the item and purchased an AMG Rattler v2 35-284, for the extra $400 it was well worth it. Again I do wish I could find something of similar type. I have contemplated making a similar concept with a flip to the side thermal but without my research I have found it would not be worth the money. Maybe if the V2 has better quality it may be worth looking into again.
