   The mounting bracket is a bit flimsy. The biometric c reader works as well as any of them. The internal mechanism limits how tall a weapon you can put in there, my PSA Dagger barely fits with the red dot on, pressed tightly into the foam. The main box is heavy and appears solid.

   The ADIMO Handgun Safe is a decent solution for secure and discreet firearm storage, especially for those who need quick access to their weapon without sacrificing safety. Designed with a steel body and electronic keypad, and a unique 3-way drop-down mounting system, it provides versatility in how and where you can install it — be it on your desk, on a wall, or beside your nightstand. One of the standout features is the fast, responsive access through the 4-button electronic keypad, which offers a tactile experience that’s easy to navigate even in stressful situations. The quick-access mechanism ensures you won’t be fumbling around for your code, which can make all the difference in an emergency. The inclusion of an internal blue LED light makes it acceptable for use in low-light environments, like nighttime or dark spaces. However, a red, green, or white LED would have been preferred. The safe also includes a Silent Mode feature, which I found to be preferable. In situations where discreet access is needed, the ability to operate the safe without an audible sound adds a significant layer of security and peace of mind. The instruction manual was confusing regarding how to toggle this feature due to translation issues. The manual states, “In standby mode, long press 4 keys for more than 2S until the buzzer “beeps”…” I initially thought it meant to depress all four number key buttons simultaneously (“keys” is plural), but after failing to activate silent mode on multiple attempts, and getting locked out for a minute due to all those failed attempts, I figured the written “Engrish” meant to depress the “4” button/key (singular) for 2 seconds, and that ended up doing the trick. In short, long-press the number “4” button on the electronic 4-button keypad to toggle silent mode on and off. The 3-way mounting system makes installation flexible — you can choose from multiple mounting positions depending on your preferences and space constraints. This also means the safe can adapt to various settings, whether you want it on your desk, installed on a wall, or even discreetly placed on a nightstand next to your bed. Durability-wise, the steel construction feels solid and offers a good level of protection against tampering or forced entry. The compact size ensures that it’s not too bulky but still holds a single handgun securely. Outside of the electronic keypad, there is keyed access via a small tubular lock. The size of the key and lock are not standard, as they are smaller. This can be a good thing since most people, and even locksmiths, probably won’t have a small tubular pick for such a lock. Two keys are provided. Overall, the ADIMO Handgun Safe is good in functionality, security, and convenience, making it a decent choice for anyone seeking an easy-to-install, discreet, and reliable gun storage solution. Whether for home, work, or travel, it offers peace of mind and quick access when needed most.

   My initial thoughts on this safe are pretty positive but I have to knock a star off because of just how easy the lock is to get into. The key is generic if anyone knew where the safe was and wanted to get into it they could buy a key on ngclab.com or just use a shim or literally any other lock picking tool. The key code is unique but it’s such a small latch I feel like if I hit it with a hammer I could just break it lose. Although, this kinda safe isn’t really intended to keep people who have regular access to its location out. It’s more like security through obscurity where you keep the safe out of sight so the intruder doesn’t see a firearm in the open, but in an emergency you maintain easy access. As I said I understand the use case but I just can’t get over how easy it be to get into this safe and I gotta take a star off for that. But if you are looking for a security through obscurity safe that doesn’t break the bank, this one will work great

   Overall very impressed. Fingerprint sensor works, as does the code. Setup was a breeze. Took a minute to figure out how to remove the battery compartment (pay attention to the orientation when you remove it). The large copper circles face the top rear when the compartment hinges closed.
