   This is definitely the version of this product that you should buy if ur in the market for one of these. It’s not silent but it’s very quiet and the sound it does make is not at all a high pitched or annoying whine. Instead u just hear sort of a low drone. Cools my AR down in about 4 mins or so…totally worth it cause my DB-15 gets really hot really fast.

   I have sat next to a different barrel cooling fan that made a high-pitched whine. With plugs and muffs on, it sounded like a distant siren… very distracting because it sounds like a fire truck or ambulance.
   I am very pleased with the Chuckwalla fan because it operates quietly. It has a USB plug, so I use it attached to a cell phone backup battery. It also came with a AA battery back, that you can use your own AAs to run the fan. I tried slipping the unit into the chamber of a .300 Win Mag rifle and it went right in.
   This should be very useful in the Louisiana heat to cool down the barrel between shots.

   Install the four batteries and turn the switch on. Works as advertised. Works quietly and efficiently. Have wanted to try one of these barrel coolers for some time and this is my first purchase of one. Satisfied so far. Will see how long of running time the cooler runs with the four new batteries per session.

   Well, just received this last week. Didn’t even get a chance to use it in the rifle, because the extension is snapped away from the rest of it. Was whole when I received it. Put batteries in, worked, put it in same package box, then seen it like this once I got to the range. It does push good air from what I feel, and the reviews I see are good. But as far as the durability, well maybe I was unlucky enough to get a bad one on the durability end. Disappointing for what I paid. Guess I gotta send it back. I wanna give them another chance based on the reviews and hope this doesn’t happen again. Hoping to give a better review in the near future.

   Love this thing! Very quiet and pushes enough air to nearly cool the barrel while changing targets. It doesn’t fit in a 22LR or Hornet well but does in 243 and larger. It is hard plastic so doesn’t stick – just push the bolt forward to hold it in place. Also color is a nice choice as a chamber flag.

   I’ve tried other options but this one cranks out some air and works like a charm. May be a touch large for small caliber guns but on my short action center fire rifles it’s a perfect fit. Toss the included battery pack and just get a good lithium power bank. It’s the perfect combination.
