   I already have a different version of this for my home range made by GADFISH, and when I wanted another to add to my targets, I decided to go with this brand again, as there’s nothing more fun than hearing that ringing of steel. We only use AR500 steel, usually in either 3/8-inch or 1/4-inch steel depending on what we’re shooting. We use the 1/4-inch steel for shooting rimfire loads, and 3/8-inch steel for our handgun and rifle centerfire loads, so I appreciate that this is a full 1/2-inch think that I can safely use with my 30-caliber rifle loads. It sounds great and takes a beating, and the projectiles safely fragment downward upon impact. We’ve previously ordered the bare steel targets in the past that we have to spray paint when they arrive and then after each shooting session. I like that the targets from this brand arrive already painted with a thick and hard coating that will take a while to chip. I appreciate that the mounting bracket comes with a compression spring that also angles the target downward. The base is very stable and drives into the ground for added stability, and I hope it lasts being left out in the elements like my other steel target stands. Since this is comparably priced to other brands of the same thickness and size of the target, it seems like a good value and it will take a beating.

   Overall, this whole package functions as it should and that’s great. The target itself gets 5 stars-it’s AR500 steel and has holes to be center mounted or hung from chains. The base could be a little better. The base requires a piece of 2×4 lumber to complete. It will also require you to use all the shims that are included because the openings for the 2×4 is significantly larger than 1.5″ x 3.5″. Once everything is tightened up, the whole assembly is pretty solid provided that you have level ground to position it on. I wish the stakes that came with it were longer and went into the dirt a bit deeper–i’d like a bit more purchase to resist the target being blown over by the wind. That being said, I’ve had no problems with the target moving/falling during use. I may omit the base altogether at some point and just drive a 2×4 into the ground, but for now the convenience of the mobile base is great.

   Impressive setup. The set up was easy. The base felt a little flimsy, but it held up perfectly. The plate is a little small, but the steel held up great after a long afternoon of shooting I would buy this again.

   Love that all you need is more two by fore to replace the thing holding up the metal plate makes it super easy to replace super simple to set up nice and light weight but not to light that it falls over less your smacking it non stop but even then I was having a hard time knowing it down with 1500 fps rounds coming outta a 12 gauge semi auto shotty

    Tiny chips from 5.56 green tip, but held it’s own against 7.62×39 and standard 556 at 20 yards. The base was in Questionable condition from ricochets. Might make it 1 or 2 more field days before swapping it out.
