   I have used several different brands of hard cases for the past 30 years. This is one of the best that I have used. What makes the difference is the ability to configure the case to your equipment. I also bought the angled block accessory kit, which gives additional options to configure the case. I like it so much, I thinking of buying the Magpul DAKA kit to upgrade one of my favorite Pelican cases.

   A buddy of mine bought the Pelican Vault V800 and got Magpul’s DAKA system for it and ever since I saw it I wanted it. However, when I went looking at prices I saw that Magpul was making their own rifle case, including this honkin’ big one which altogether is a bit cheaper than buying a Vault V800 and Magpul’s DAKA set for it, so I waited. And waited. And waited some more. I had nearly given up on said waiting and was eyeballing the Vault again when I finally saw this was out, and ordered it on the spot. It’s so nice, and not having to commit to one layout for your rifle is just fantastic. A case I can customize based on what I want to bring to the range that day is just plain great, and the construction of this feels plenty solid and well-thought-out. It was worth waiting for, and a pretty good deal compared to alternatives.

   One detail to note is this does come inside the branded box, so if you won’t be home when it arrives, it will be sitting there advertising precisely what is inside, so keep that in mind.

   Fit 20” rifle, 16” AR, cans, 2 pistols, and small box of carry ammo. Latches worked good. everything made it thru typical airport throwing your luggage off plane scenarios. With Southwest this counted as one of free checked bags

   Was looking for a “custom case” and even bought the high density foam to cut for an extreme custom look. After messing around with that foam for a few hours and still not getting it to even fit inside the case right, I knew the chances of getting a high-end looking custom case, with my talents, were slim. This case takes literally minutes to set up, looks amazing and feels so secure I know there will be no shifting even in the harshest of treatments. Wish I had seen this before I bought that other stuff.

   Literally the last case you’ll ever need to buy. If you’re on the fence, just do it – you’re not likely to regret it.

   This gun case is big and has plenty of room! I went with Magpul case over a Pelican case because It is wide enough to fit my gun with the magazine installed. I really thought I was gonna regret buying it. Now that I have it and have messed with it, i really like it. This case looks and feel high quality. The daka organizer is a big plus, I can reshape and switch up the inside to fit different guns without having to pay extra and not be stuck with one gun like the pelican cases. I did have to cut and reshape some of the foam blocks to finally get the fit I wanted. I do think the pelican protector cases are a little tougher but the Daka grid organizer, the extra spaces around the inside, the big latches and the accessories you can buy make this case a good competitor.

   I learned of DAKA from a friend who has it in his vault case and decided to check it out as I was looking into options for my desert tech SRS a1. I found the r44 on prime day and made the order. It fits my DT snuggly and I found out I can fit on megalithic 6 ARC ar in it also with a bit of block reconfiguration. A++

   Sounds better than it actually is

   Biggest complaint is that it doesn’t seat properly, heard that was a problem with the pelican version but figured magpuls case would’ve figured out a way to better secure it.

   Also, will not fit any guns with a light or offset dot attached without removing the foam underneath. The manual says not to do that, but it is my only option if I actually want to use this case.

   Overall, 3 stars, great concept but poorly executed.
