My Monstrum Challenger 3-18×50 FFP Rifle Scope seems to be an outstanding bargain. A FFP scope for under $300 is previously unknown, and this one is still under $200 with ngclab.com as of this review. The glass is clear and bright, the body construction is IDENTICAL to another, more expensive scope I bought recently, SFP for $250. The power ring moves with minimal effort, always a plus in my mind, and the lighted reticle is great at 3X, and outstanding at 18X… much brighter, and illuminated the entire reticle tree. I have several much more expensive scopes, but since I tried Monstrum scopes, I’ve been asking myself WHY spend BIG money, when Monstrum qives me top quality for much le$$. If you’re looking for a high power variable scope (and I assume you are since you’re reading this) I STRONGLY SIGGEST you try the Monstrum Challenger 3-18×50 FFP Rifle Scope! (P.S. Monstrum also has a lifetime warrantee on ALL their products!)

The Monstrum Challenger 3-18×50 FFP Rifle Scope is an incredible deal for the price. I have been looking around for awhile and finding a scope of this quality under $200 is almost unheard of. This one delivers impressive clarity, solid construction, and smooth adjustments. The build quality rivals more expensive scopes, so it’s an excellent budget-friendly option for those who want high-performance features without breaking the bank. It also comes with a battery, a cover, the necessary tools and a scope mount. I am no expert in these, but I have plenty of friends I shoot with who are. And they’ve all been impressed with this scope.Definitely 5 stars! A fantastic, well-made scope of this caliber (pun intended) at a great price, and even comes with a lifetime warranty. Highly recommended!

First scope I received was opened and appeared to be used but I was able to return it without issue and get another one which was as described and an excellent value for the money. I put it on a 17 HMR and although the scope is on the heavier side it is worth it in clarity and value. Highly recommend scope if you do a lot of target shooting. I wish Monstrum offered this in a non-illuminated version to save a bit on weight for those that don’t need illumination.

I would say this scope is about what I expected for the price point. Externally, the scope looks great and I like the size and feel of the turrets. The turret clicks sound and feel much better than I expected honestly. Unfortunately the turret seems to index between the markings on the on the scope which makes it hard to tell which 1/10th mark you are actually on, which is really annoying.
The zero stop system is very rudimentary, but works pretty well and stops right on zero, but it’s half way between mechanical detents.
When I tried to take the windage cap off to zero it, I had to pull extremely hard to get it to pop off. I’m not sure why it’s that hard to take off, but I was literally yanking on it. Getting it to go back on is difficult as well and just like the elevation turret it indexes between the 1/10th markings making it impossible to get it exactly on zero. You cant tell if your on zero or 1/10th off.
The zoom ring is pretty stiff but useable. I really like that they thought of putting a throw lever on it. However the lever is in a terrible position. As you can see in the pictures it actually hits the bolt handle on full zoom. It’s in the way of your hand even if you back it down to 14-15x depending on how you run the bolt.
The glass is what I expected. It’s pretty clear in the center, but has very noticeable distortion as you look closer to the outside of the lens.
I like the retinal design as far as the spacing of the markings and what not, but the center floating crosshair is wider than I prefer. It’s big enough that it completely covers any bullseyes on paper less than 3/4 moa or so.
I love that it is first focal plane. That’s a hard feature to find in a low cost scope.
Overall, it’s about what you’d expect for the price point. It would work just fine for casual plinking or Airsoft or something similar. It’s a little too cheap for PRS or quality precision rifles.

Outstanding optic for the money. Sold with scope rings is a bonus

First off the outer white sleeve looked like it had a rough experience in transit. The Monstrum sticker on the bottom of the black box which contains the scope was already cut. The bell of the scope is either tarnished from someone’s dirty hands or is a factory blemish. The illumination dial was so stiff I seriously injured my thumb. Couldn’t even sleep last night because of the throbbing pain. Writing this review hurts. I have not shot with it yet but can’t even grab the rifle at this point so I can’t comment on it’s performance. I have several Monstrum scopes but this experience has not been good.
