   I finally had the chance to get to the range today with my Monstrum 3x Prism Scope (Model S330P) that I purchased from ngclab.com, mounted on my AK74 . It was a sunny 55 degree day here. The scope was mounted to a “Fireclub NEW A-K47 Scope Mount” I also purchased from ngclab.com. The Monstrum scope is surprisingly bright & clear and seems well assembled for it’s price point. The illumination in both red and green works well. I did not use illumination when shooting today since it was so sunny out, so I cannot speak to how well the illumination is in bright/sunny conditions. The etched reticle worked well today. A couple of thoughts right up front: I feel this scope is strictly a range shooting optic. Though for it’s price it worked very well for me today, if my AK74 was more than a range firearm at this point in time, I would look for a better mount and more robust optic. In fact, this was a test really to see how I liked an optic on this rifle since my eyes are getting older. I started shooting at 25 yards and making windage and elevation adjustments. And like others have mentioned, the marked adjustments on the turrets are exactly opposite of how you need to move the reticle. Yes, that caused some fun. After getting a zero at 25 yards, I moved out to 50 yards. I did have to fine tune my zero at that range. Then it was on to 100 yards. Unfortunately there was some confusion going on at the shooting range by that point and I only was able to put six rounds down range at 100 yards. Through it all the scope performed beautifully. I shot a total of 160 rounds of 60 grain Silver Bear ammo, 5.45×39 and it never lost zero or had any malfunctions. For the purpose I purchased the scope for, I am completely satisfied. I do have a few of suggestions for Monstrum on product improvement though. 1. I include flip up lens covers. That “bikini” cover can be easy to get lost. 2. Drill the riser for standard ACOG mounts. I think with the base removed, the scope could sit a little lower that way. 3. Do something to make the reticle focus ring tighter. I put electrician’s tape around mine to hold it in place. So all-in-all, a decent shooting range ready, 3x optic for the price. Also the Fireclub mount worked well. I wouldn’t have the confidence in it that I have in my Aimpoint on my M4 clone, and I know battery life wont be as long as the Aimpoint; but for the range and the price you pay, this optic is good to go.

   I love monstrum products they’re all very nice and great priced and have never had an issue, I just recieved this optic and it was brand new never opened still in its sealed bag it comes shipped in which was nice I pulled it out and noticed there’s a white powdery residue all over everything which was odd but no big deal seemed to clean off easily but I noticed after I mounted it on the gun and looked through it there are faint little spots all over either the lense or internal prism, they’re not very noticeable and not to big a deal but it’s one of those things that once its spotted you can’t unspot it

   The eye relief is not great. Cheap ish product but the price is ok. Cheap quality paint. I bought it for .22l it will do the job. Hold 0
