   My husband has been talking about getting an infrared scope and NVG for the last few years so when I came access this little gem for $250 I decided he needed an early valentines day present. Overall: Perfect intro level infrared binoculars for camping, the casual user or if you just want to decide if an infrared scope or NVG are worth that next severe price hike for you. I’m really looking forward to taking it camping up in the woods to see if my young daughter and I can spot some nocturnal animal activity. This was hubby’s list of pros and cons. Pros: User friendly Surprisingly good picture for the price point Takes batteries but can also use with an external power source The ability and image quality of photos and video is fantastic and fairly clear even when zoomed You can use with additional infrared light to extend the range (crystal clear at over half a mile) Image is crystal clear during the daytime. Hard carrying case is non-descript and great for storing. Cons: No lens covers makes me hesitant to bring it hiking without coming up with a microfiber cover for fear of scratching a lens. Its a little Heavy to hold for extended periods of time with batteries in it, but can be used with tripod to counter this. Viewing screen is a little bright even on its dimmest setting. Shutter speed on camera is a little slow for extreme low light settings: trying to keep it still enough to take clear images is difficult when zoomed in low light settings unless you are using it with a tripod. Was going to add a video from the binos but an 11 second clip was 44mb so with my terrible internet it wouldn’t upload.

   They are Very easy to operate and have an impressive range. The night vision optical are very clear, I can actually count the number of deer in our back yard, 200 yards away.

   I bought these as a gift for a close relative who loves to hike and birdwatch. She usually would lug her digital camera with all the different lenses when hiking/birding. We talked about how great it would be to have binoculars that were capable of taking pictures, video, and sound. Not only that but also able to work at night when she would go “owling”!

   So now she has them and is very happy. The build quality, small size, and great visuals were noted when she and her husband first handled them. They commented how much easier it will be to carry and use, especially with the great case they came with. Her husband figured out how to use the binoculars and various features without even reading the manual as the controls are very intuitive and well placed. Then he taught her the functionality of the binoculars and she started using them immediately. She told me they are fantastic and have great vision and clarity with both video and pictures. She was also blown away by the nighttime capabilities. Now let us be clear, these are not military-grade night vision goggles nor a $2000 pair of Bushnell binoculars. Once you have realistic expectations for what they can and can not do, you’ll find them to fit the bill for a number of applications.

   The VABSCE Night vision binoculars are a great value. When buying these you need to keep your expectations in check. They will not out perform or match the performance of actual night vision that can be had from a PVS-14 but they are also 1/20th the price of actual night vision. What you get for that price is a well build device with a 4k resolution screen and a decent IR emitter. The low light performance is good, at about 100 yards and beyond you can easily make out objects and people when compared to the naked eye. Where this device has a leg up on actual night vision is the ability to record and the ability to distinguish colors at night, which can be a huge benefit depending on your use case. The future of night vision is digital and if you want to dip your toe in without spending a ton of money this is a great starting point.

   This night vision capability on this device is awesome. You can see everything clearly and is very easy to work with and also has great zoom quality. It is a little heavy to hold after awhile, but if you have a tripod for it than it will be even better. The only issue for me would be the buttons, you need to press on then firmly and a little hard to get them to work normal. Other than that, great product.

   It is a very good camcorder capable of capturing photos and videos at 1080P. However, as a binocular, it can only show 640×320 resolution on the display screen. This much lower image quality is still quite usable, definitely much better than the many monocular models with a tiny 1.5” screen. Just do not expect to view live video at 1080P on this binocular. Since they market the product as a binocular, their product description should provide the specification on the display resolution. The usability can be improved. The focus wheel can be bigger. Also, it is on the bottom of the binocular making focusing quite difficult. All the binoculars I have seen have their focus wheel on top, more natural to control. Some of the potential customers might want to know that the infrared light can be seen from far away; so you would not be in the hide. It is quite chunky for a 10×30 binocular. The 10×30 Nikon in my picture looks tiny in comparison. Of course, this is not a fair comparison. However, a few new binoculars have started to use only one or two high-capacity rechargeable batteries, instead of eight AA batteries, to significantly reduce their size. If this is important to you, you might want to wait for a few more months to shop for smaller and lighter night-vision binoculars. Overall, I give this product 4 stars. I like it enough that I will upgrade if they will introduce a new model with a 1080P display. A more recent night-vision binocular from TKKOK has a display resolution 25% better.
