I’ve now had this for several months, at first I loved it. After a while I noticed a few things. After an every shot the dot now moves a little each time, fun but you pay for what you get I guess.

Held up well after I put 1,000+ rounds through practicing and shooting 3 USPSA matches with this mounted on a PDP. The previous bottom battery version also held up well on a G34 with 500 rounds on it. I thought the slight glass distortion might bother me in a match but target focusing on 40 yard targets and getting good hits in a match showed it wasn’t an issue. Not much to complain about anymore after they addressed my only gripe with the previous version; bottom load batteries. Now that it’s side loaded, I’m happy, especially for the price. Battery life so far has not been an issue over the last 6 months, that is to say, I haven’t had to swap out a new battery yet.

I’ve had good results on other Zulisy optics like the regular Oak or the Otter, but this Oak Plus was very unreliable. After mounting to a pistol, I didn’t get through two magazines before the optic would not turn on. After removing the battery and reinserting it I was able to get the optic to turn back on but it didnt last. During another range session it would just turn off again and wouldn’t turn back on reliably. The pistol it was mounted to didn’t have backup irons so it was waste of a trip. It would blink on and off on occasion when shooting or playing with the battery, but certainly not worth attaching to anything you need to trust for function. It’s a pity since the large window, looks, and battery access were what attracted me to the optic, but I’m not pleased with the actual performance.

I bought three of these and mounted them on a Staccato XL, CZ Shadow, and Walther PDP Match. I’ve shot over 10,000 rounds through each of these guns with the optic mounted, and I’ve had zero issues. In fact, I stopped using my Holosun 507 Comp because this red dot has a larger window and the reticle size suits me better for USPSA competition. It uses the same mounting plate as the 507 Comp, which made installation simple. I don’t usually write reviews, but this is genuinely a great product, especially for the price.

I really like this optic, it’s clear, has a very crisp and bright dot, and seems well built. I have owned 3 other Optics from this company and have had great experiences. One word of caution, I have this mounted on a rifle at the moment, but it may not mount to a dagger or Glock style slide if your rear iron sights are moved ahead of the optic cut. The front of the sight sits proud of the mounting base and will interfere with a tall suppressor height rear iron sight. For my purposes though, it’s awesome. Love the side access slide out battery tray too.

I recently picked up the Zulisy Oak Plus for my EDC, and I’m impressed. The sight is lightweight, easy to mount, and offers a clear, bright reticle. The multiple brightness settings are a great feature for different lighting conditions. The build quality is solid, and it holds zero well even after some rough handling. For the price, it’s a fantastic value and competes with much more expensive options. There’s no need to pay more when reliability and function can be found here. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable and affordable red dot sight!!
