   I give it a 4 1/2 rating, the instructions are the pits, but once you figure out that only 2 of the dip switches used it they work great. Originally I ordered 2 and one didn’t work, replacement was sent and works great. I set these up with my other laser targets in my garage and have fun while it’s raining outside with my shooting partners. For the price it is a pretty good deal. I would recommend this item.

   I had read reviews posted for this device initially and it seems there must have been a previous model. This model does have the capability to tailor if you want the sound or not and other behaviors from the dip switches shown in the picture. I did try the device outside in fairly direct light and it had difficulties after about 20 – 25 feet picking up the laser but lower light and indoors seemed to be no issue. I like that you have to hit center of the target for it to register which promotes better accuracy. The directions that come with the device are not very helpful but playing with the switches was pretty obvious for determining what they do. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to improve their shooting with dry firing skills. (It does come with some off-brand batteries, I would not recommend leaving them in the device just in case)

   I have been using several brands of laser targets in conjunction with my SIRT laser training pistol for many years, in order to save on ammo and to get practice in the months where shooting as often is not feasible. Since I am always looking to expand my variety of laser targets to shoot, I picked up this iDryfire laser target. This operates on four included AA batteries, and I found it works fine with rechargeable batteries as well. The batteries seem to last several hours before needing to be replaced, depending on the batteries used. It’s a bit smaller and lighter than I expected at 6.5-inches wide, 5-inches long, and 2.5-inches tall. The entire unit is made of plastic, including the white target paddle. The center of the white paddle stands 2-inches high from the base, and the target area of the paddle is 2.5-inches in diameter and is convex out to 1-inch so that it can be shot at from different angles. Like my other targets, this works best in low-light situations, as excessive sunlight can cause it to not register hits. It responds to both red and green lasers, and like my other targets, it has light, or light and a clanking sound to react to a hit. Where this truly shines, however, is in that the white paddle can be set to flip backwards when hit, which is oh so satisfying, and then it pops back up again, so you need not touch it to reset it. This target does register hits from different angles, so I appreciate that you don’t have to shoot it from directly in front, and it registers shots from across my house at nearly 30-feet away. Because this unit is so lightweight at only 8.2-ounces and made entirely of plastic, I worry that if dropped, that it will cease to function. If I have any other nitpicks, it is that the instruction manual is incomplete and, in some areas, just plain wrong. It says that to mute the target, you need to toggle switch number 1 on the back of the unit, but that actually stops the paddle from dropping; it’s toggle number 2 that actually mutes the unit. There are four toggles in total on the back of the unit, but I can’t figure out what the third and fourth toggles do and there is no mention of them in the manual. The toggles and on/off switch are also very small. My unit also came with the toggles set to off, so I had to switch the toggles down to get the sound and paddle movement. Despite my nitpicks, the asking price of around fifty dollars seems reasonable for a unique reactive and resetting laser target.

   I recieved the first one, it worked three times then stopped, ordered a replacement, the second one came in but to my surprise it came with a note that the sound did not work. It was most likely a return that you know who sent to me as a replacement. DO NOT BUY

   Honestly for the money, this is great.

   Instant feedback and seems to work with a variety of dry-fire lasers.

   The only reason I posted 4/5 is the outer 1/3 or so of the gong does not seem to register a hit.

   Still well worth it for the money.

   When I opened this I was a little dismayed it didn’t come with batteries? I did find the clear plastic battery wrapper. After inserting new batteries I found the target didn’t retract when it was hit. Upon receiving the replacement which came with new batteries and worked well it became obvious that the first unit was a returned defective assembly. On top of being defective the last guy kept the batteries.. It always irritating when this happens. Why would a company invent and produce a product like this and then hire incompetent back room receiving and shipping employees to ruin the customer experience?
   Received replacement unit in December and used it regularly for a month. Just tried it again…dead as a door nail and return denied. Buy at your own risk.
