   Good product. Vaultek empathy for the customer: not so good. Product arrives with no battery charge, keys are locked inside the locked box, no charging cable is provided. When I sourced a charging cable I was able to get power to the unit and start the process of setup. None of this was documented in the manual i.e. a first set up guide, just explaining opening and closing as if you’ve already done setup, i had to look up actual first time setup online. Why keep us guessing Vaultek, should be making things easy for your customers like 1, 2, 3.

   A new law in the state of Colorado requires carrying a weapon in a vehicle in a locked box. This is my first case and I love this box. It took a little minute to get my fingerprint aligned just right, but once it got it I am set. I like the side latches along with the ability to enter the box, if needed, quickly. My husband also has access to the box with his fingerprint so it isn’t limited to just one person. I put an air tag in the box for added security. I have a large compartment in my Honda Pilot and wish that it fit but it is off by just a wee bit. I keep it stored under my seat.

   I needed something small to store a defensive weapon in our living room. I wanted something that was fingerprint activated, and high quality. I was familiar with the Vaultek name, and love the SIG brand, so this was a perfect match. The size is great, and the locking/unlocking motion works well. Its a little pricy compared to a lot of the Chinese made ones you can find on ngclab.com, but its much nicer, and they tend to be much larger. The inside of the lid has slots for thin items like cards. I don’t have a use for those.

   Two things to be aware of:
   – If you are using the fingerprint reader, its a one touch unlock. If you are using the number pad, you must tap the central button first to wake up the pad, then you can enter your code.
   – You can’t leave the latches unlatched while it is locked. It binds up the locking mechanism.

   I bought this for flying, thinking my P365X-Macro w/ micro red-dot and a 25rd box of defense rounds would fit fine. Let me tell you, it is a tight fit. I placed them different ways to find the best fit before marking foam w/ a chalk pen and cutting out. They do fit, but there really isn’t room for anything else. Would be great for sub-compact or micro size handguns, but recommend getting the 2.0 version of this for anything larger, especially if MRD is attached. As American Airlines doesn’t allow bullets in the magazine, I had to use the factory box to secure them and have empty mag in gun. Other than that, no complaints!
