   I have been using AT3 optics on several of my weapons platforms for years now. My KS12T AK Shotgun, SAR-1 AK, and two of my ARs sport the RD-50 and have been 100% accurate with no zero loss. The same can be said for the new AT3 Alpha. First off, out of the box the Alpha looks and feels very well built and not overly heavy. Weighing in (in my preferred configuration) at 6.5oz it’s not overly heavy. The optics are clear and the dot is super crisp. First off I tested the AC to Florida heat/humidity which it handled well with no fogging of any sort on the lenses. Next the water dunk test, I fully submerged the optic in 2’4″ of water for 40 min. Post dunk I saw no signs of water intrusion of any sort. On to the range first on a Spikes 5.56 rig for initial sight in and testing. Full disclosure, this sight can be mounted super low, 1/3 co-witness or full co-witness. I prefer full co-witness so everything from here on assumes I have it in that config, with the exception of mounting on an AK platform in which case will be as low as it goes. My AR platform sight in procedure is to get the BUIS sighted first with a 50/200m zero then match the RDS to them and adjust the RDS for 50/200m. If it needs adjustment take a shot from a sled, then move the dot to match impact. In the case of the Alpha it hit just 1/2″ to the left of the BUIS. After that match the dot to the impact and it was dead on. I ran 210 rounds with no zero loss, I would have taken off the optic to test removal and reinstall keeping zero BUT for whatever reason, and yes this is a gripe, AT3 does not utilize pegs to match the picatinny slots but rely on a screw instead which makes it a coinflip if the zero will remain on reinstall START PUTTING PEGS on these sights!!!! Next I moved it to the mule, my KS-12T AK shotgun, using the low mount plate. After sighting in using Remington slugs (it took four at 25yds), I got to work running the sight with slugs, 00buck, and magnum slugs, never lost zero and I ran through 60 shells. All in all the AT3 Alpha red dot is at least as good as the RD-50 and probably as durable. The addition of shake awake was a much needed update. However the sight needs a peg style lug to ensure that zero remains consistent should you want to remove it and put it back on the same firearm! This will be living on my DIV3 5.56 going forward.

   The AT3 Tactical Alpha is a well-built optic with a crisp green dot, offered at a very affordable price. The build quality is excellent, and the performance is solid. However, I personally found it challenging to acquire the dot through the tube design, which I anticipated might be an issue for me. Despite this, AT3’s customer service has been exceptional. They went above and beyond, even recommending other optics (including those not from their brand) that might better suit my preferences. Highly recommend both the product and the company for their outstanding support.

   Very nicely made product. Installation was a breeze. I still need to shoot my handgun to confirm, but so far, I am not disappointed. I can’t wait to hit the range and try it out! I only wish you didn’t have to use an object to adjust the elevation and windage. That is probably my only complaint. It does adjust very easily.

   I really like this red dot. Didn’t much time at all to get it mounted on a 10/22. Adjusting with a boresight and adjustments on windage /elevation I had this on target within 30 minutes. I love the wakeup, auto shut down and various settings that this thing is capable of. The view is very crisp and crystal clear and lightweight. It has so far earned its 5 star rating in my opinion.
