   I want to put my SIG somewhere near my office desk but in a concealed place, not to be seen from outside. Not much space under the desk, this sliding-out design is very elegant and smooth, while saving space. Set up is easy and straightforward, I read through the manual, and as instructed, set up multiple prints from one finger, which helps a lot I guess. Now regardless how I touch it with my finger, it always pop-open in no time, it’s instantaneous, no delay at all. Now I’m more confident about the “Quick-Access”. Mounting brackets works on both sides, which is great. Mounting screws, batteries and tools all provided. What’s interesting is, they also included a piece of pre-packaged gun wipes from ZKT – never see this before, but how considerate. Tried it and love it so much – this is a great idea, clean lube & protect all in one package, guess I’ll buy some more. Thank you Holewor.

   The fingerprint reader and 6 digit PIN code work very well. Overall I’m satisfied with this safe for keeping my home defense handgun secure but readily accessible should I ever need to fetch it quickly. On the negative side, (1) it is not tall enough to store the gun with the slide rack locked open, meaning one either has to store with a round chambered or plan on racking the slide after drawing. (2) The safe also feels like it would not be difficult to pry open with a large screwdriver. (3) The mounting hardware provided does not support drywall, so get your own. (4) when my safe arrived, it was impossible to open it. This is because the wire harness from the key pad to the locking mechanism was not tied down, and it had managed to loop over the corner of the back side of the door. I managed to free the door and move the wires out of the way using a long stick and an endoscope camera. I have modified the safe by using tape to secure the wires so this never happens again.

   I assume mine is defective or damaged, but I’m certainly not getting a replacement of this one for this purpose. I need to be able to trust it.

   The unit springs open with the key just fine.

   I programmed a code and fingerprint (and also used the factory code). All correctly indicate *on the display only* that the unit is unlocked. However, the electromechanical device inside that should release the lock and allow the door to spring open did not do anything. I even took out the drawer to see if it was just a loose connection or something, but no luck.

   A quick-access gun safe has one job, and this one didn’t do it.
