   The safe itself seems great. High quality materials and very solid. The only issue I had was resetting the keypad code. It seems the user manual is for a different model when it comes to the keypad programming directions. Hopefully this will help the next person out.

   To program a new code press the button inside the battery tray. You will hear 1 beep and the buttons will flash once. After that, punch your desired code in to set it. To confirm your code hit the button inside the battery tray once more and punch in your new code while the keypad buttons are red. Should be good to go after that.

   I own several Hornady safes and this one is my favorite. The lid and locking mechanisms are slim and dont interfere with gun placement unlike the Hornady covert nightstand clock model. This model allows enoght space to include a holster on the gun. You can even fit a G19 in a Safariland paddle holster in this.
   Only weakness is this safe is finicky when you enter your code or fingerprint. If it doesnt accept your code the first time, it can be slow and frustrating to wait for it to reset and accept your next try.

   I was really hoping a biometric safe from a big name like Hornady would do better than many of the other cheaper safes I have. Alas, this product was very disappointing. The manuals are wrong and despite some useful comments from others on how to properly program the codes, it was still very hard and took many, many tries. Then I programmed multiple fingerprints from different angles: yet the fingerprint reader would work perhaps half of the time. When it doesn’t you have to wait several seconds for the reset, but what if I need to get to my safe urgently? Worse, after several wrong trials, the safe starts beeping incessantly as a warning, and the only way to turn it off is to open the safe with the key and take out the batteries: a terrible and clunky process.

   Great value for the features. Easy to understand the instructions and was up and running in little time. Good size for one or two items. Quick access with fingerprint reader feature. The safety this item provides and the security when you need to leave home alone or have children or guests in the house is well worth the price.

    This gun vault is well made and works well as advertised and expected. Just a little difficulty in programming the security code, you have to enter it three times (3x). The manual instructions says 2 times only, which frustrated me and almost returned it. Same thing for the biometric, you have to do it 3 times.
