I would buy this over the primary arms option If you aren’t using this as a duty optic this is a great budget option for target practice. Reticle is crisp and clear and I was surprised for how much value you get. All of the mounting was solid and easy.

There are 2 problems with almost every one of this type of scope, the eye relief is bad to terrible, 1.5-2 in, and they’re usually heavy, 15-20 oz. The Ruckus weighs 12.7 oz with the mount and has eye relief of 4 in. Plus it has a chevron reticle which in my opinion and experience is the best for accurate and rapid shooting. All this at a price 1/3 of a comparable Primary Arms which is an excellent scope but falls way short of the Ruckus. I don’t know why its not stated by Monstrum, but its 30mm objective which is also good feature.

At first impression, the optic seems very durable with clear glass. I have astigmatism and the BDC Reticle is very sharp.
But, when I went to mount it on my rifle, I noticed that the forward mount screw was very difficult to loosen. Trying to tighten it was far worse. It jammed before it could tighten the mount onto the rifle.
When I completely removed the screw, I noticed it was cross threaded.
It seems whoever assembled the optic at the factory installed the screw at a bad angle.
Since I can’t fully tighten the forward mount screw, this thing is going back.
Too bad I didn’t get to shoot with it.

After mounting this Monstrum 4x Prism to my rifle using lock tight on all the screws and following the torque specifications, I immediately took it to the range and zeroed it to my desired range. Unfortunately, come my next visit to the range I learn that the prism did not hold zero, and so I re-zeroed it. Chalking this up as user error, I re-zeroed. Long story short, after multiple trips to the range and more than a month passing, I discovered that the issue is with the 4x Prism. Sucks for me, time had past for me to return the item. I wrote Monstrum and they said return the item, but there was a caption that said; “refund providing 30 days within date of purchase. So, now I stuck with this paperweight.

I got this to go on an At 300blackout. It works beautifully except that there are no marks to tell the user which direction to adjust the elevation or windage left/right or up/down.
