I’m an old Army guy that spent many years using military grade optics. My eyes are getting old as well, so I need some help to keep on target. This little optic is just the thing. I mounted it on a Ruger 10/22 and love it. With the auto on/off feature this thing is slick and you don’t need to worry about a dead battery. It’s worth every penny. Note: If you plan on putting on the Ruger 10/22 it will not fit the Ruger rail that comes with the rifle. Just can’t go wrong with Sig optics. Lifetime, unconditional warranty. Stops working, they fix it or replace it. Don’t even have to be the original purchaser.

I picked up the SIG ROMEO5 Gen 2 after using the original model for years—and I’m seriously impressed. SIG took a great optic and made it even better.
The 2 MOA red dot is super crisp and easy to acquire, whether you’re at the range or out in bright sunlight. It has 10 brightness settings, including two for night vision, and the motion-activated MOTAC system is a game changer. The dot turns on instantly when you pick up your firearm and turns off when it’s idle—saving battery without any hassle. I’ve been running the same battery for months with no issues.
Mounting was quick and easy, and I love that it comes with both a low mount and a co-witness riser. I’ve got mine on an AR-15, and it hasn’t lost zero after hundreds of rounds. Super rugged, water-resistant, and compact—perfect for a range of platforms.
Bottom line: If you want a reliable red dot that punches well above its price point, the ROMEO5 Gen 2 is it. Ideal for beginners and seasoned shooters alike.

The sight is blurry, the shipper changed the delivery date after the order was replaced so I said to cancel but they said they could not.

I have a 4T and wanted to see the difference between cheaper models.
Pros: build quality feels just as good. The Romeo 5 feels good and robust in the hand. Having the Motac feature is also nice at this price point. Also, nice mounting options included. Looks a lot like a reptilia mount and it’s free.
Cons: honestly just the glass quality and reticle clarity. With the 4T the dot is crispy and nice. The Romeo 5 is a legitimate starburst of squiggles with no defined center point at usable brightness. There’s also more hue in the glass. The 4T is very clear regardless of which reticle you use.
It’s a good buy, but know what you’re giving up.
