A neighbour let me know he had seen a fox in my garden early one morning, drinking from my wildlife pond, so I decided a fixed camera was a good option to try and capture some images of this. I chose this camera for the solar function so I wouldn’t be constantly checking on the battery life.
It was really easy to set up. Fortunately I already had a memory card to use in it. The functions of the camera are very similar to a compact digital so from that respect it was easy to work out the settings. I have not yet added the optional AA batteries as so far, after the initial charging with the USB cable, the solar battery has stayed charged up sufficiently. I will add the back ups at some point. The solar panel is quite big so it will pick up a lot of light for a small item.
I set the camera up to view the wildlife pond straight away to try and catch the early morning foxy wanderings, but no luck so far. During the day I have tried it in various positions in my garden to try and find the best spot. It comes with a handy strap so you can fasten it around tree trunks without damaging anything – this keeps it firmly in place, but it also comes with some fittings. a disk that you screw in, then you can screw the camera into place, great if you want to leave it somewhere permanently. I’m still undecided where to leave this yet. In the four days I have had it we have had sunshine, hail, wind and plenty of overnight rain – the camera’s waterproofing is spot on.
So far my only disappointment is that it will not capture garden bird activity. I had hoped that it would capture some shots of the Great Tits using my nesting box, but unfortunately they’re a bit fast for it – edit – uploaded a short clip). I’ll try again when they’re a little more active and feeding their babies. I tried it on the bird feeder which is very busy just now, but it only captured the slow pigeons milling about on the ground. In all though, I think the camera will be really successful should I ever get the fox in the garden – it captured my dogs doing their morning patrol with lovely clarity. I’m pleased with the quality of the images.
It will be great to take away camping to the Scottish Highlands later this year and see if I can get shots of anything there.

I have a house out in the country, with lots of ‘critters’ running around (deer, rabbits, racoons, skunks, wild hogs, stray dogs, etc.). I can see some of them in the distance, from my security cameras. But, I wanted some close up images to better identify what kind and how many critters there are.
I already had a very good field cam with a lot of nice features. But, can’t find it. So, I bought this one, a very good quality basic field camera from Voopeak. Didn’t cost near as much as the other. But, overall does everything you really need in a field camera.
Instructions are simple. Very easy to program and set up. To test it, I strapped it to a support column of my back patio cover, pointed out at the yard. You can program it to do pics, videos or both. I chose both. All images are nice and sharp, even at 1080p (which I chose over the 4k option, to use less mb’s to store).
You can play back the video and pics, right in the cam (really nice). Sound quality is fine for playback from the cam.
When you order this camera, go ahead and make sure you have 4 AA batteries and either a 32gb standard SD card, or a micro-SD with an adapter. NOTE: 32gb is the MAX that this camera will support.
I like that this camera has a built-in Li-on battery and solar panel for charging. But, go ahead an put some regular batteries in, just to make sure you still record when there’s been a lot of cloud cover.
My tests here in Texas have proved this camera is well worth the small investment. Can’t wait to get it set up on my acereage up there in Arkansas.
Definitely 5 stars in my book!

Like the idea that it doesn’t have to have 8 batteries, just plug in to charge internal battery. Had good photos day and night. Using the default option makes it easy to use. The size of the camera is good.

We live on a canyon and get all sorts of wildlife outside our fence. Deer, coyote, racoons and even bobcats. We’ve had a trail camera before and it worked decent but it ate through batteries. I got so sick of swapping out eight AA batteries all the time that I just gave up. Come 2024 and now there are solar powered rechargeable trail cameras so I decided to try again. The trail camera is a fairly standard design except it has a solar panel on the top and a USB-C power for charging. I charged it up and strapped it to the fence to see what we’d get. You’re supposed to also install four AA batteries but I didn’t bother. If I was putting this in a remote location I would. I pulled the memory card after a few days and had pictures and video of a number of deer and coyotes. The trail camera caught many that my WyzeCam attached to the fence missed. Very cool. The image and video quality is good and pretty standard for trail cameras, especially the night stuff. I really like that the camera has two tripod sockets so I can take it on camping trips as well and easily set it up to see what critters are around when we’re sleeping. One other thing worth mentioning is that the user interface is very easy to understand and use. That’s not usually the case and it was a pleasant surprise.

This device takes very clear shots during the day and is excellent for taking black and white shots of wildlife without disturbing them at night. It boasts a wide range of ways to set up the camera for stills or videos according to your wishes and to secure it firmly in position. If you find it a bit puzzling at first the help desk is very helpful and responds quickly to your queries.
If I do have one criticism it is that the instruction book is too small for my elderly eyes but the pdf of guidance obtainable from the website solves that problem perfectly!
PS Make sure you format your SD card on your PC before inserting it in the camera!

A robust, very easy-to-use camera right out of the box. Simple functionality and easy set up including control over video and photo resolution, length of video, number of photos taken when triggered, and sensitivity of movement sensor. Set up in our garden to capture photos of birds feeding and, in just two days, have some great results, see above.
A bluetooth option would have been useful, however given the cost of the camera this might be too much to ask.
All together a fantastic camera for the price and would highly recommend it.
